9th, Thursday	7-15pm Birch & Layer Breton Women's Institute in Birch Memorial Hall. 'An Evening in the Dales' - Rosa and Sandy. Competition - Something Orange.
11th, Saturday	10-00am to 6-00pm Friends of Essex Churches Ride & Stride Organised by the Friends of Essex Churches Trust. Get friends to sponsor you to ride (bicycle) or walk to as many churches and chapels as you can. Half the money you raise goes to the church of your choice and the balance to the central trust fund which makes grants to Christian churches in Essex. Sponsorship forms available from the local organiser, Jimmy Bancroft (Tel: 330067) or from Birch Gallery or local churches.
